Job Title: Mt. Pleasant Church Homeschool Co-Op Director

Reports To: Chairman of Elders

Takes Daily Direction From: Senior Pastor

Position Status: Part Time

Location: 6516 Old Greensboro Rd. Thomasville, NC 27360

Job type: Part-time 20-25 hours/week. Classes will be held 2 days a week in 3 hour blocks each day. This will be a 10- month position with the possibility of a modified schedule for the remaining 2 months for planning if necessary.

Job Description: The Mt. Pleasant Church Homeschool Co-op Director is responsible for all operational functions of the co-op program. The director will coordinate between the staff, parents, and students to effectively and efficiently carry out the goals of the program while maintaining focus on God as the primary objective.

 

Requirements:

  • Have a relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and share in the same beliefs as Mt. Pleasant Church.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the Mt. Pleasant Co-Op align with the values, mission, and vision of Mt. Pleasant Church.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Mt. Pleasant Church co-op which includes determining registration fees, setting the calendar and class schedule as well as organizing teachers, volunteers, classrooms, and curricula as needed
  • Establish and maintain a positive, professional, and respectful relationship with all staff, parents, and students
  • Host informational meetings at the beginning of each semester to keep all co-op members up to date of all policies and procedures.
  • Host teacher meetings each semester to ensure teachers are equipped with all the knowledge necessary to facilitate classes and to lay out the expectations of their role as a teacher at Mt. Pleasant Homeschool Co-Op
  • Maintain an open line of communication with parents for any concerns or questions directly related to the co- op.
  • Purchase any items necessary for the co-op to function efficiently.
  • Schedule and facilitate co-op committee meetings at least once per semester. Director may call a meeting at any additional time at their discretion.
  • Maintain open communication with the facilities manager to ensure all facility needs and expectations are being met.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with some college experience preferred
  • Previous homeschool experience preferred
  • Previous teaching experience preferred
  • Strong administrative and computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and record keeping skills
