The Shepherd’s Staff – February 2021

The Elders have been busy with personnel reviews this month. We have been looking at the responsibilities of our staff, their compensation, and how we can assist them in their ministry at MTP.

From that review, we have recommended to the Administrative Council that Greg Moore be made a full-time employee working 40 hours per week for MTP. He will assume the responsibility of kitchen equipment maintenance in addition to his other duties. Greg has done a fantastic job keeping our facility clean and in working order and we appreciate all he does. The Admin Council approved this change and Greg will begin full-time on March 1.

We expressed our thanks to Donny Baldridge for the tremendous success of the MTP Youth program. Donny has made the Youth program a centerpiece of the ministry here at MTP. Visitors express their excitement at every Lunch with the Pastors in seeing their children so involved in a church. Also, the extra work that Donny B. puts in to make our online presence a success has really broadened the reach of MTP. He spends quite a bit of time working with the sound team to broadcast our services each week. Thank You Donny B!

We met with Jennifer to discuss the MTP Kids program. Jennifer is continuing to recruit and staff our children’s program. We have well over 100 kids who attend regularly! Jennifer and her volunteers work hard to provide a meaningful and loving time for the kids here at MTP.

We also need to announce to the congregation that Donnie Durham has resigned as part time Associate Pastor. Due to other demands on his time, Donnie D. cannot continue to serve in this role. He and Deborah will continue to actively serve as members of the church but will be stepping down as staff. We want to express our appreciation and thanks to both Donnie D. and Deborah for their faithful service over the past 2+ years. We will be seeking a new person to take the role of Visitation pastor. If you know of someone who may be gifted and willing to take that position, please contact one of the Elders.

The last organizational item that remains unfinished in our new structure is the installation of Deacons. The Elders are examining our ministries and who would have the Spiritual gifts to lead our ministry teams in the capacity of Deacon. Our plan is to recommend a list of names to the Admin Council in March and get that team set up. MTP is blessed to have so many talented members and such active ministries.

Continue to pray for wisdom as we work on behalf of everyone at MTP.
Please reach out to us if we can assist you and your family with any spiritual or ministry needs.
