The Shepherd’s Staff – January 2021

The Elders wanted to keep everyone at Mt. Pleasant informed on what we are working on in January. Our hope is to update the church every month on where we are working to make Mt. Pleasant Church the best we can be serving God in our community.

January was filled with a lot of activity. We met weekly and went through a training session on Biblical Eldership. All of us were further humbled and challenged to see what God requires of us as the spiritual shepherds at Mt. Pleasant. We had a vision-setting meeting early in January to select the top needs we would like to address this year. Here is a brief list of ministry areas that we see as growth opportunities for our church. If you feel God is calling you to these areas, please contact one of us to discuss how your gifts can fit into Mt. Pleasant’s vision.

  • Mentoring Youth with life skills
  • Discipleship of small group leaders
  • Shepherd our Children’s ministry
  • New believer shepherding
  • Engage Youth and Children with a Christian world view
  •  New member shepherding, matching gifts with needs
  • Connecting Senior adults and Youth
  • Assist other churches to honor God in their ministry
  • Church security

We also needed to transition the personnel oversight responsibilities from the Staff-Parish Relations Committee to the Elders, as the SPRC is not a part of the new organizational structure. The Elders will shepherd our church staff as we continue to grow. One area of growth is that we need to hire a part-time financial administrator to help our Treasurer. Due to the abundant blessings from God, our financial strength continues to improve and we need more help to be the best stewards of those gifts.

We also began surveying the ministries that are going on at Mt. Pleasant, and that is a long list! In the next month we plan to have a group of Deacons nominated to oversee the groups of ministry work we are doing.

Please reach out to us if we can assist you and your family with any spiritual needs or ministry needs.
